Maria Luisa Bemberg directed., Set during the 1930s and ’40s, Miss Mary is the story of a British governess (Julie Christie) working for the family of an upper-class Argentinean man (Eduardo Pavlovsky). She relates, during a series of flashbacks, several stories which focus on the gradual decline of the Argentine aristocracy from 1935-45. The film, a production of Argentina, appears in English, with subtitles in Spanish.
