Tessibel Skinner (Mary Pickford) comes to the rescue of her sister when she has a child out of wedlock. Tess not only takes in mother and child, but becomes a social outcast when she claims the child is her own. This is the only film remake ever done by Pickford and is far superior to the original 1914 version that contained no close-up shots of the star.
