Wishbone The Prince and the Pooch

A real-life Jack Russell terrier stars in the Wishbone PBS series that uses classical literature to teach grade-school children about the joys of reading. Wishbone’s thoughts are voiced by an actor as the terrier is shown stepping into fantasy sequences derived from various classic stories. Period costumes and sets further instruct children about what the world looked like when each original story was unfolding. Mark Twain’s Prince and the Pauper provides the inspiration for this story about rich and poor characters who switch roles.
