Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding did not go well with certain social media users. Mukesh Khanna has defended the pair from internet trolling.

The legendary actor recently responded to criticism directed at Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal for their interfaith marriage. Mukesh Khanna criticised trolls for referring to the wedding as ‘Love Jihad.’
While responding to the social media trolls, the Mukesh Khanna stated, “Don’t look at Sonakshi and Zaheer’s marriage through a Hindu-Muslim perspective. Sonakshi made a deliberate decision. They had been together for 6-7 years before marrying. People are calling this a love jihad. “Love jihad occurs when a girl’s marriage is forced.” He added, “Can’t a Hindu and a Muslim marry? Many people did this in our day and are pleased. “This wedding is a family affair for them.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal were together for seven years before marrying on the same day they fell in love. They started dating on June 23, 2017. Huma Qureshi co-produced the film Double XL, in which the two starred together. Notably, Zaheer is the son of industrialist Iqbal Ratansi, Salman Khan‘s close boyhood pal. Furthermore, Salman supported Zaheer Iqbal‘s debut film, Notebook, in which he appeared alongside Pranutan Bahl. Salman introduced Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal during a social gathering.
