Nani: ‘Bollywood is spoiling the image of India…’ Nani reacted to Rishabh Shetty’s controversial statement
National Film Award winner Rishab Shetty‘s recent statement sparked controversy on social media. In a promotional interview for his next production venture ‘Laughing Buddha’, the actor claimed that Bollywood portrays India’s image negatively. Actor Nani has now reacted to Shetty‘s statement.

In a recent interview with India Today, Nani was asked about Rishab Shetty‘s controversial comment. At first, the actor expressed surprise and said, ‘Did he really say that?’ Later the actor said, ‘I don’t think Bollywood is showing India in a negative way.’ Sharing his own perspective about the Hindi film industry, Nani said, ‘Somewhere, I feel that in Hindi cinema, the technique and style of filmmaking is given too much importance than the emotional aspect of the story.
Nani clarified that he doesn’t want to say anything without knowing the meaning of Rishab‘s statement. However, he defended the actor-filmmaker, saying that his statement might have been misinterpreted. Nani said, “I think he means that in Hindi cinema, stories with roots are given more importance.
In an interview two weeks ago, the ‘Kantara‘ star was asked, ‘You mostly make films on social issues which we often ignore when we read or watch the news. Like your film Kantara talked about man vs wild in a way but you make sure to show it in a very sensitive way, how do you do that?’ To this, Rishabh replied, ‘I think that is the most important thing to consider.’
