The film ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ explores the dark side of romance
“Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,” the sequel to the 2021 thriller Haseen Dillruba, dives into the complex dynamics of love and betrayal with a mix of pulp fiction aesthetics. Directed by Jayaprad Desai and written by Kanika Dhillon, the film brings back Taapsee Pannu as Rani, alongside Vikrant Massey and newcomers like Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill.
The story picks up with Rani and Rishu (Massey) trying to lead a new life, but their plans are complicated by the entry of Abhimanyu (Kaushal), who becomes entangled in their twisted love story.
The film, while engaging, struggles with predictability and lacks the sharp twists that defined its predecessor. Despite its flaws, the performances, especially by Kaushal, offer some redeeming moments, making it a watchable yet flawed continuation.
