During the interview, Preity revealed, “I didn’t want to do a film. I was focusing on business, I wanted to focus on my personal life.” She emphasized the importance of balancing career aspirations with personal goals, especially for women in the industry. Preity highlighted the challenges women face due to their biological clock and the pressure to establish a family alongside their careers.

Preity expressed her desire to experience the joys of motherhood and family life, stating, “It’s great to play various lives, but you shouldn’t forget to live your life.” She emphasized the societal expectations placed on women and the struggle to achieve work-life balance in a male-dominated industry.

Reflecting on her return to acting, Preity shared her excitement about working on “Lahore 1947,” describing it as an exciting and important project. The period drama, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and co-starring Sunny Deol, holds special significance for Preity, who read numerous scripts over the years before finding one that resonated with her.

Despite her love for acting and the fulfillment it brings, Preity acknowledged the guilt she experiences as a working mother. “My kids are two-and-a-half, and I’m back at work. I’m loving work, but there’s so much guilt every day that I’m missing out,” she confessed.

As she prepares to present a special honour to veteran cinematographer Santosh Sivan at the Cannes Film Festival, Preity‘s journey serves as an inspiration for women navigating the complexities of career and family life in the entertainment industry.
