The Winds of Autumn
George Kourounis and his storm chasing friend Mark Robinson head to Newfoundland, site of a recent huge hurricane, and witness an explosive burn out of the huge forest fires in Northern Ontario., Over the last ten years, the world’s weather has become more and more violent, and many have witnessed dozens of hurricanes, tornados and volcanic firestorms. Angry Planet will take the audience on an extraordinary tour of the world’s most extreme natural phenomena as we film a collection of unique and hair – raising situations involving tornados, hurricanes, blizzards and anything else Mother Nature could hit us with. The Autumn of 2006 brings hurricanes to the North Atlantic, and hot dry winds fanning furious forest fires across Northern Ontario. In this episode George Kourounis has traveled to some big hurricanes, including Rita and Katrina, with his stormchasing pal Mark Robinson. This year they head for Newfoundland, site of the hurricane that that pulled Robinson out of a life – threatening depression. George also witnesses an extraordinary, explosive burn – out of the huge northern fires., Violent natural events, such as hurricanes, tornadoes and volcanic eruptions, are examined.
