Starbuck is on the edge of a nervous breakdown as she battles the emotional fallout from her captivity on New Caprica., The Cylons have occupied the human settlement of New Caprica and it’s been three months since the Galactica, and the Pegasus, plus a handful of ships escaped into deep space. But the fight is not over. On New Caprica, a resistance movement has begun and, despite having only a handful of untested pilots at his command, Admiral Adama is committed to risking everything on a daring attack to rescue the people he left behind., The dreams and hallucinations of an unstable Kara Thrace prompt her to visit a religious oracle, who frightens her by insisting that Leoban and Kara’s abusive mother both play crucial roles in her destiny. Later, as Kara heads out on patrol with Hotdog, she sets out in pursuit of a Cylon raider that no one else can see. Though Adama refuses to ground the troubled pilot, Kara’s hallucinations are becoming increasingly worse. The next time she and Lee head out for patrol, Kara spies a Cylon raider once again and steers her ship into the heart of a mandala-shaped maelstrom in hot pursuit. As the pressure begins to tear her ship apart, Kara finds herself transported back to her old apartment, where Leoben waits to greet her. Subsequently, Kara drifts back to the time she discovered her mother was suffering from terminal cancer. Though Kara attempted to console her mother, her efforts were only met with cruelty and derision. Now, as Kara realizes that she has been running from her fear of death ever since, she resolves to overcome her dread in order to be whole again., Starbuck is on the edge of a nervous breakdown as she battles the emotional fallout from her captivity on New Caprica. It soon becomes clear that her scars run much deeper., Tigh, Tyrol and Anders lead the Resistance on New Caprica to increasingly deadly attacks against the Cylons. Kara finds herself trapped in a new life with Leoben Conoy, and Duck makes a fateful decision., Kara “Starbuck” Thrace questions her sanity when a dogfight with a Cylon raider ends unexpectedly, and later she has recollections of her abusive mother (Dorothy Lyman) and nightmares about her time on New Caprica.
