The competitive baking series which pits local independent bakers in a head-to-head challenge under the watchful eye of experts Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell continues. Three Scottish bakeries enter the baking arena including a community bread bakery, an artisan bread makers from Edinburgh and a Perthshire-based Israeli baker who mills his own flour at a 400-year-old watermill. They must create an original bake combining chilli and puff pastry, and make brandy snaps., The competitive baking series continues with the first regional final, featuring bakers from Scotland and the North East of England. All must create an afternoon tea to wow judges Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell, and create a complicated layered hazelnut meringue gateau with hazelnut praline. Unfortunately, burnt praline and broken meringue means that for three of them, the competition ends here.
