Amidst swelling anti-homosexual sentiments in both the government and the local communities, activist David Kato comes out as openly gay, and wages a valiant fight to repeal his country’s fiercely homophobic laws. Meanwhile, Bishop Christopher Senyonjo, a rare religious supporter of gay rights in Uganda, finds himself excommunicated from the church over his support of the LGBT community.
