The story begins 20 years after man’s first steps on Mars, and follows the adventures of the security force Spectrum in its attempts to protect Earth from the evil Mysterons. Spectrum agents Captain Scarlet and Captain Black are assigned to investigate mysterious signals emanating from Mars. Finding an alien city, Black launches an attack, angering the Mysterons, who capture him and turn him into one of them. Captain Scarlet manages to escape but the attack leaves him with a genetic condition making him virtually indestructible. Putting his new found strength, and the Spectrum team, to the test, Scarlet and his friends embark on their biggest battle yet – Earth versus Mars., A hard-to-kill special agent embarks on an intergalactic quest to combat hostile aliens with the help of an elite team of agents from across the globe.
