City of Ghosts

A con man flees to Southeast Asia when an international scam he was involved in goes sour. Suspecting he’s been double-crossed by his long-time mentor, he sets off to Cambodia for his promised cut., Actor Matt Dillon makes his feature-film writing and directorial debut in this movie set in exotic locales such as Thailand and Cambodia. Dillon plays Jimmy, a man on the run hiding out in Southeast Asia after an insurance scam went bad in the United States. He has just found out that his partner in crime Marvin has turned up in Cambodia and that Marvin is determined to get the cut of the money that Jimmy denied him. But now Jimmy realizes that the light at the end of the tunnel is a train heading right for him. In the mysterious and hostile environment of that part of the world, even a hardened criminal isn’t safe., Leading man Matt Dillon makes his directorial debut with the crime thriller City of Ghosts. Jimmy (Dillon) is a New York con man fleeing the U.S. for Bangkok in order to avoid an insurance scam investigation. He goes to Cambodia to meet up with his former business partner, Marvin (James Caan), to collect his half of the money. Along the way, he makes friends with local man, Sok (Sereyvuth Kem), and romances Sophie (Natascha McElhone). Also starring Gérard Depardieu and Stellan Skarsgård., Matt Dillon does triple duty—he directed, co-wrote the script and stars—in this atmospheric and suspenseful crime drama. He plays con man Jimmy Cremming, who goes to Cambodia to meet with his mentor.
