Come Undone

Two people stuck in unsatisfying relationships find one another in this romantic drama from Italian filmmaker Silvio Soldini. Anna (Alba Rohrwacher) is in her early thirties and has a job at an insurance company that doesn’t tax her imagination or ambition. Anna has begun thinking about having a child, but she’s thoroughly disinterested in her fiancé Alessio (Fabio Troiano), a pleasant but boring repairman. One day at an office party, Anna meets Domenico (Pierfrancesco Favino), a handsome man a few years older than herself working as a waiter. While Domenico is married with children, that doesn’t keep him from acting on his attraction to Anna, and she responds in kind. Soon the two are meeting for weekly trysts in a run-down motel, but while their affair brings excitement and passion into their lives, it also fills them with feelings of guilt and betrayal, and in time both Anna and Domenico have to decide which partner will stay in their lives.
