This adventure is set in the jungles of New Guinea and chronicles the exploits of a schooner captain who encounters many travails in the South Seas after two smugglers frame him and take his ship. They are to use the ship to retrieve a large gold shipment contained within the airplane the crooks deliberately crashed upon an island. Aboard that plane is a boozy woman who is still bitter about her husband’s death. To find his ship, the captain enlists two con artists. The trio goes to the island. There they endure a series of adventures involving crazed headhunters, large cats, gators, and other problems. They find the girl and the gold and then must face the dangers all over again to get back., Skulduggery involving a plan to steal a gold shipment aboard a crashed plane.
