Directed by Bernard Shakey, a long-time alias for Neil Young, CSNY Déjà Vu documents the beloved quartet’s 2006 Freedom of Speech tour. The film includes a wealth of information about the Iraq War, and the film’s anti-war stance gets as much attention as the group’s musical performances., Neil Young directs a documentary film exploring the career of folk rock supergroup Crosby Stills Nash and Young and the tumultuous times with which their music became associated., Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, whose Vietnam-era protest songs such as “Ohio,” “Chicago” and “Find the Cost of Freedom” were anthems of the anti-war movement, raise their voices in song and dissent about the war in Iraq in this triumphant rockumentary. The film chronicles their 2006 “Freedom of Speech” tour, and is loaded with excellent concert clips. The director is Bernard Shakey, a nom de plume for band member Neil Young, who co-wrote the script with journalist Mike Cerre.
