A ballet dancer and a burlesque queen each use their very different but very impressive seductive styles to compete for the affections of the same wealthy suitor., Musical comedy drama about an aspiring ballerina who reads the riot act to the rowdy male audience at the burlesque house in which she works. The budding dancer is working as a stripper’s stooge when the pressure becomes too much for her and she delivers a verbal tirade against her abusive audience. Although a flop when released, today the film is regarded as a feminist cult production., This 1940 dramedy involves an ambitious ballet dancer (Maureen O’Hara) forced to find work at a burlesque house. While there, she competes with a stripper (Lucille Ball) to win the love of a ladies’ man (Louis Hayward).
