The Starlet
A worry-stricken aunt implores Sgt. Joe Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Bill Gannon (Harry Morgan) to find her niece, who has run away to Los Angeles to find fame as an actress. The duo are soon offered a lead by a local teen and find a small-time actress by the name of Eva Graham (Susan Seaforth). Though she has no solid information to offer, her tip leads the increasingly troubled lawmen into the seedy world of underground pornography. After receiving stills of the girl from Vice, Friday and Gannon arrest pornographer Cornelius (Lyle Talbot), who quickly claims that Graham knows more than she is letting on. The duo are subsequently given a phone number by the unremorseful Graham and quickly locate her apartment, only to discover the girl dead from an overdose., The search for a runaway teenager leads Friday and Gannon into the world of pornographic films.
