Celebrated film-maker Christopher Nupen’s film shows young Russian pianist Evgeny Kissin in preparation, interview, rehearsal and in several dazzling performances shot live on stage. Footage featured includes Kissin’s memorable BBC Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1997, the first solo recital in the history of the Proms. Music is by Liszt, Gluck, Haydn, Beethoven, Kissin, Schubert and Chopin, the composer for whom Kissin feels the closest affinity., The renowned concert pianist Evgeny Kissin is the subject of this documentary. The film consists of performance footage, intimate backstage footage, and the story of his notable rise from child prodigy to internationally famous musician. The man performs music from Chopin, Schubert, Beethoven, Liszt, and many other revered composers. The DVD release of the film contains a discography of Kissin.
