His ‘Supermarionation’ process combined painstaking detail, hair-thin wires and plastic figures to emulate human-body movement, although the results were crude compared to Anderson’s subsequent efforts ‘Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons’ and ‘Thunderbirds.’
