Franklin is reluctant to go to sleep because he’s afraid of the dark, so Mrs. Turtle tells him a bedtime story to help calm his fears; Franklin has his heart set on getting a red scooter just like the one Rabbit owns., In Franklin and the Red Scooter. Rabbit gets a scooter and Franklin wants one too but he has only just got a new bike. He tries to earn some money for it but doesn’t get anywhere. In Franklin in the Dark, Franklin tells his mum he’s afraid of the dark. She tells him a story about another little turtle who was afraid of the dark.
