Investigating the 2007 massacre of six endangered mountain gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Virunga National Park., A team of park rangers race to catch the killers of a family of four endangered mountain gorillas in the Congo., Six mountain gorillas are found murdered, execution-style by gunfire, in Africa’s Virunga National Park. By chance, photojournalist Brent Stirton is there on assignment and he documents the scene. His photographs of the lifeless male silverback and family are transmitted around the world. And the world responds in disbelief. Only an estimated 700 of these primates remain in the wild and now there are six fewer. In the end, one man will be falsely accused of the crime, one will stand trial and one will hold the park, and the remaining mountain gorillas that live there, hostage.
