The nation’s greatest chefs compete for the chance to cook a banquet., The nation’s top chefs are challenged to cook for the ultimate street party. They are battling to create spectacular sharing platters, dishes that will get everyone talking. Chefs Tom Kerridge, Phil Thompson and Tom Aikens, from London and the south east, pull out all the stops with their fish dishes, hoping to impress veteran chef Jason Atherton. Will he choose lobster burger with thermidor mayonnaise, seaside platter, or poached shank of monkfish with morels and asparagus?, Great British Menu is back and the nation’s greatest chefs are competing to cook at a special banquet at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate 25 years of Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day and celebrate the unsung heroes of charity work. Not only do they have to deliver a performance on a plate to win, they will also have to put a smile on everyone’s face. The chefs will also be set fundraising challenges to raise money for Comic Relief. Also, each week a special guest will also join the judging triumviate. The curtain raises on London and the South East – newcomers Matt Gillan and Adam Simmonds come face-to-face with returning contender Tom Aikens. It is the fish course and Tom and Matt battle it out with scallop dishes while Adam delivers langoustine and oysters. But who will come out on top? Great British Menu veteran Richard Corrigan will be judging all week., The chefs from London and the south east pull out all the stops with their fish dishes., It is the battle of the London and South East chefs – newcomers Phil Howard, Graham Garrett and Marcus McGuinness. All of them are determined to knock out their rivals in the race to the Olympic banquet. They cook their fish course, but which one will prevail? Will it be Phil with a tasting of cornish mackerel with oysters, mussels, winkles and samphire; Marcus with pollock, peas, coconut and elderflower; or Graham with octopus, blood orange, feta cheese, squid ink tuile and black olive salt?
