The Hooterville Image
The citizens of Hooterville find it pretty silly that Oliver (Eddie Albert) insists upon wearing a suit and tie while doing his farm chores. Feeling that Oliver is tarnishing the community’s “image,” the locals try to show him how pretentious he looks by donning their own Sunday clothes — top hats, cravats and all. In his efforts to get back into his neighbors’ good graces, Oliver agrees to don the traditional bib overalls…but he balks at wearing Lisa’s specially designed work clothes, with the fur-lined overall straps!, The townspeople ridicule Oliver for doing chores in city clothes.
