In this independent horror opus, Alex (D.J. Perry) and his wife Helen (Aimee Tenaglia) are not getting along, and Alex feels the need to get away from things for a while. Alex’s buddy Wayne (Jim Greulich) sympathizes and suggests that he tag along for a weekend hunting trip. As Alex and Wayne head into the woods, they discover what appears to be some sort of burial site, and they decide to dig up the remains and find out what happened. When they uncover a strange skull with horns, they realize that this is not what they expected, and soon they’re being pursued by evil creatures, angry that graves have been disturbed by the hunters. In the Woods was filmed in its entirety in Western Michigan, and it received its world premier at the 1999 East Lansing Film Festival., Two firefighters on a hunting trip find an ancient burial site, but the skull they dig up unleashes a demonic, bloodthirsty canine that terrorizes their town.
