A newly clean and sober Jack Taylor returns to his beloved Galway and is drawn into investigating the case of a man who was brutally murdered with a spearhead by an unseen assailant., Back in Galway after a year away, a clean and sober Jack uncovers a group of vigilantes while investigating a murder at a building site, becomes the prime suspect when a businessman involved with a former colleague is found dead, and acquires a sidekick to help him clear his name., Jack probes the murder of a man who fell from the scaffolding of a construction site. Elsewhere, Jack reconnects with Anne Henderson, only to discover she’s in an abusive relationship with a local businessman.
