Prot (Kevin Spacey) is a mysterious patient at a mental hospital who claims to be from a far away planet called K-Pax and that Earth is too bright for his eyes. He is handed over by psychiatrist Mark Powell (Jeff Bridges) who notices that the man sounds very convincing. This new finding makes Dr. Powell wonder about his own abilities to distinguish reality from fantasy.
