After the missing Claire returns with no recollection of what has happened since before the doomed flight of Oceanic 815, Jack and Locke formulate a plan of defense against her kidnapper, the mysterious Ethan., The search is on for Ethan, the crazed jungle denizen who let Claire escape from him and now wants her back…or else. The manhunt’s driven by Charlie, guilt-ridden by memories of another woman he let down that are recalled in telling flashbacks., The survivors’ joy at Claire’s safe return is short-lived when Ethan pounces on Charlie, threatening to kill off the survivors one by one unless she’s returned to him. The camp set up an alarm system and sentry duty to protect her, but when Boone takes his turn to guard, he dozes off and is awoken by Claire’s screams…, Having been kidnapped several episodes back, Claire (Emilie de Raven) suddenly re-emerges. The other survivors pump her for information, but she can remember nothing of her ordeal — nor of anything that occurred since even before the plane crash. Meanwhile, Claire’s self-proclaimed abductor, Ethan (William Mapother), threatens to methodically kill the others unless the girl is returned to him, forcing Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) into violent retribution. And more flashbacks reveal just how low Charlie had sunk in his heroin addiction prior to the plane crash.
