A profile of artist Miriam Beerman, who has overcome personal tragedy to inspire friends, family, peers, patrons and students with her vision even when the odds were against her. A recipient of two Fulbright fellowships, among numerous other honors, she had the first-ever solo female show at the Brooklyn Museum in 1971; and her work is now housed at some of the most hallowed institutions in the world.
