Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect
The police are in high-alert mode as San Francisco is terrorized by a series of deadly mail bombings. Monk (Tony Shalhoub) thinks he has pinpointed the most likely suspect, a man named Brian Babbage (Matt Winston). But as so often happens in this series, Brian has the “perfect” alibi: He was in a terrible car accident several months ago–and has been in a coma ever since. And to make Monk’s job all the more difficult, Brian’s accident was witnessed by both Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) and Lieutenant Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford)!, Monk thinks he knows who is behind a recent explosion of mail bombings around San Francisco. Now he just has to solve how the suspect committed the crimes while in a coma., Monk suspects that the killer in a recent bombing is a man who has been in a coma for four months after a police car chase., Monk is on a mission to nail a mail bomber, but his prime suspect is in a coma. And he is battling to put his own obsessive behaviour to bed., Adrian Monk is a highly gifted detective whose career is jeopardised by his overwhelming fear of germs, crowds, small places, and almost everything else…(although he’s making progress on milk). Monk’s disorder was triggered by the murder of his beloved wife, Trudy, which continues to haunt him as the only unsolved mystery in his career. Ordered to take a leave of absence from the police department, Monk hires Sharona, a nurse who helps him try to get reinstated on the force, and in the process, becomes an unlikely Dr. Watson to his Sherlock Holmes. When the police department find themselves unable to crack a high-profile case, they have no choice but to bring back the only man for the job…phobias and all., An elaborately tied knot provides Adrian with the clue he needs to prove how a man in a coma could have managed to commit murder, despite having been unconscious for four months.
