That’s what Valerie (Traylor Howard) thinks when she sees a woman (Melora Hardin) who not only looks like Trudy, but is also overheard admitting that she faked her own death to save her family from the vengeance of the extremist group which may have ordered the bombing. Naturally, Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is exultant over this news, but Valerie suspects that something is terribly, terribly wrong here–and her suspicions are apparently confirmed when “Trudy” is seen lingering around the body of a murdered man named Ellinghouse (Harve Presnell)., Natalie spots a woman who looks exactly like Monk’s late, lamented wife, Trudy, leading to suspicions that she may not be dead after all., Adrian Monk is a highly gifted detective whose career is jeopardised by his overwhelming fear of germs, crowds, small places, and almost everything else…(although he’s making progress on milk). Monk’s disorder was triggered by the murder of his beloved wife, Trudy, which continues to haunt him as the only unsolved mystery in his career. Ordered to take a leave of absence from the police department, Monk hires Sharona, a nurse who helps him try to get reinstated on the force, and in the process, becomes an unlikely Dr. Watson to his Sherlock Holmes. When the police department find themselves unable to crack a high-profile case, they have no choice but to bring back the only man for the job…phobias and all., For the first time in years, Monk has made progress in therapy. But when Natalie discovers that Trudy may be alive, she risks unraveling her boss completely.
