Down with a cold? Doctor Jones is in the house to vanquish the virus with a healthy dose of action-packed laughter., A hybrid of live action and animation not unlike Robert Zemeckis’ groundbreaking 1988 feature Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Osmosis Jones tells the tale of Frank (Bill Murray), a widowed zookeeper currently trying to make a life for himself and his daughter Shane (Elena Franklin). One day, clowning with a chimp in the zoo, he swallows an egg that has been in the chimp’s mouth and on the ground, at which point the film cuts to Frank’s insides, where Osmosis Jones (Chris Rock), a white blood cell, senses unrest and begins to counter germs. Osmosis is then transferred to Frank’s stomach, where he hits the nervous system and causes Frank cramps and discomfort. Osmosis must then team up with Drix (David Hyde Pierce), a mechanical enforcer with a 12-hour time release mode, to assign him a cold pill, while avoiding the ghastly Thrax (Laurence Fishburne), a red menace planning to make Frank sicker. As Frank’s temperature rises, the duo must find a way to prevent Thrax from entering other parts of his body and wreaking havoc. The film also features voice work by William Shatner as the mayor within Frank’s body, Brandy Norwood as a sexy assistant, and Ron Howard as Tom Colonic, a political opponent in the City of Frank., When Frank swallows a diseased egg, war breaks out in the City of Frank – in other words, inside his body. The inhabitants of this strange inner city must fight the evil virus Thrax and save Frank from a terrible fate.
