This simple little comedy showcases the stellar talents of Oliver Hardy — then known both personally and professionally as Babe Hardy — and the equally rotund Kate Price. Maggie (Price) works for the wealthy Goldrox as a cook, but she fantasizes of entering high society. Her dream is shared by a garbage collector, Babe (Hardy), and one Sunday, the pair meet in the park, both dressed in their best outfits. They convince each other that they are members of high society and a romance develops. One day, while the Goldrox family is away, Maggie invites Babe over and shows him around the mansion. Babe is quite impressed with her surroundings and their love affair deepens — at least until the next day. Babe, busy at work, shows up around the back of the Goldrox home just in time to see Maggie emerge from the kitchen in her cook’s outfit, and the truth comes out.
