Filmmakers Joe Fox and James Nubile embed themselves with proponents and opponents of same-sex marriage in Maine while chronicling the 2009 battle in the state over gay marriage. In March of that year, the state legislature passed and governor signed a bill that legalized gay marriage. Opponents then sought to overturn the law via a voter referendum on the November ballot.
