A final battle is waged against alien invaders., In the series finale, a final battle is waged against alien invaders., Admiral Rick Hunter’s forces have waited for the right moment to strike, and the time is now. The fleet moves in toward Earth, and Invid troopers launch from every corner of the Earth to meet them. The Invid put up heavier resistance than Admiral Hunter’s forces expect, and the fleet’s commanding officer prepares to use neutron missiles in case things go awry — missiles that will wipe out Reflex Point, as well as their own forces on the ground. Meanwhile, the freedom fighters inside Reflex Point observe that the fleet has launched Shadow fighters, which the Invid are slower to detect. Lancer again pleads with the Regis to end the battle peacefully, rather than face the extermination of her people. With the Earth as the last known source of protoculture, the Regis refuses to leave, preferring to fight to the end — and, with the tide slowly turning against the expeditionary force thanks to the Invid’s overwhelming numbers, that end may be the humans’, not the Invid’s. But unknown to everyone, the fleet’s commanding officer is preparing to use neutron missiles in a last-ditch effort to wipe out Reflex Point — even if it costs the lives of every human in the area.
