Clark witnesses a popular Smallville baseball player steal a shipment of refined kryptonite from a LuthorCorp truck to enhance his athletic abilities. Meanwhile, Lana’s relationship with her father improves, while Clark’s friendship with Chloe deteriorates., Eric Marsh (Zachery Bryan), Smallville High’s star baseball player, is inhaling kryptonite to enhance his athletic prowess. Having become addicted to the substance, Eric ends up stealing some refined kryptonite from LutherCorp — a theft witness by Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Keeping a low profile, Clark tries to have Eric arrested, only to be undercut by Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), who is more concerned with recovering the kryptonite than administering justice. The consequences are devastating when the now-unbalanced Eric goes on a destructive rampage., Clark encounters an audacious teenage robber who inhales Kryptonite fumes from a respirator to give him super-strength.
