Smoky Mountain Melody

Minstrel Roy Acuff takes over the Corby Ranch, and foils a scheme by his cousins to take the ranch. In the meantime, Roy takes good care of the ranch and animals, and treats the neighborhood to barbecues and barn dances as he plays his fiddle, In this western, a cowboy crooner and his boys (Roy Acuff and the Smoky Mountain Boys) are bequeathed a ranch and are given three months to manage it. This causes great consternation on behalf of the late-owner’s sons. Wanting the spread for themselves, they try to frame the singer, but he proves himself to be a wily old veteran and consistently outfoxes them. He and his band also sing a few songs.
