Lawrence and somewhat faithful to his book, this is the story of a young man whose entire life has been dominated by his mother, a manipulative, authoritarian figure who ruled the men in her life with an iron fist. A sensitive young man with an artistic bent is nearly stifled in the repressive atmosphere in which he is reared.
