The crew leave Data for dead when his shuttlecraft explodes during a dangerous transport mission., Kivas Fajo (Saul Rubinek) determines to add the unique Data to his prized collection of one-of-a-kind artefacts and, staging Data’s apparent death, he imprisons him aboard his ship., Data’s shuttlecraft explodes, but the crew is forced to proceed on its mission to aid a colony with a contaminated water supply., The crew are forced to negotiate with a space trader for a rare and unstable substance needed to neutralise contaminated water. While carrying the dangerous cargo, Data’s shuttle explodes. Geordi, unable to accept the death of his friend, suspects foul play and investigates., While on a dangerous shuttlecraft mission, Data is kidnapped by hobby-obsessed space trader Kivas Fajo (Saul Rubinek), who wants to add the android to his personal collection. To cover his tracks, Fajo destroys the shuttle, leading the Enterprise crew to sadly conclude that Data is dead. Suppressing their grief, the crew sets about to complete Data’s mission, while the “deceased” android attempts to outwit his captor.
