The Merger
In Week 7, the Tagi and Pagong tribes merge into one, with a person from each tribe attending a summit meeting on the sand spit to determine at which camp they will live. Also: the contestants compete in an underwater swimming event for immunity; and a seventh person is voted off the island., With the inevitable merge about to occur, tribe ambassadors Jenna and Sean are chosen to spend a night together to decide what the new tribe will be called and at which camp they will live. After becoming the new Rattana tribe, the castaways are thrust into an every-man-for-himself situation, competing against each other for individual immunity. With strength in numbers, the four-way alliance of former Tagi members wields a considerable amount of power, so when they set their sites on Greg, it’s do-or-die for the former Pagong member. “The Merger” originally aired on July 12, 2000.
