His only real role model is maths teacher Susan (Raquel Cassidy), who surveys his antics from an amused distance. Married and career-minded, yet still able to hang out with the lads, Susan is everything that Simon is not. So is Jenny (Nina Sosanya), a haughty fellow English teacher whose outspoken disapproval of Simon’s shenanigans makes her the unexpected object of his embarrassed lust. Although Lincoln eventually left the series, which then shifted focus to other characters, Teachers became the first Channel 4 program to run for four consecutive seasons, from 2001 to 2004.
