Drysdale: Raymond Bailey., A con man tries to sell Jed the Hollywood Bowl., Jesse White guest stars as glib-tongued con artist Harry Jones. Discovering that Jed Clampett is worth $25 million, Harry offers to sell the backwoods millionaire the Hollywood Bowl. Jed replies that he’d better ask Granny first — she handles all the kitchen supplies. Undaunted, Harry proceeds to take the Clampetts on a tour of Los Angeles, offering to sell them not only the Bowl, but also the L.A. Freeway and Griffith Park for good measure. The episode’s best gags involve the “surging” Los Angeles river and Jethro’s offhand comment about Hawaii. “Jed Buys the Freeway” was first shown on February 27, 1963.
