Cindy (Susan Olsen) views a magician make his assistant disappear in a closet and irrationally assumes that the woman is now lost for good in a dark black vortex. Now harboring a deep-seated fear of magic and the dark, Cindy will only sleep with the lights on. Meanwhile, in an ironic and cruelly convenient plot twist, Peter (Christopher Knight) is preparing his own magic show for the school pageant — complete with a disappearing Jan (Eve Plumb) trick.
