Is That My Boy?
Former high school gridiron flash Cliff (Bill Cosby) bursts with pride when son Theo (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) joins his own school’s football team. Alas, Cliff cannot bring himself to admit that Theo isn’t quite up to the challenge–indeed, his only claim to fame on the football field is a well-choreographed “celebration” dance, which means zilch if there isn’t anything to celebrate. Meanwhile, Rudy (Keshia Knight Pulliam) begins to feel worthless because she’s the youngest member of the family. This episode marks the first mention (but not first apperances) of the “fifth” Huxtable child, and of Theo’s best friend Cockroach., Cliff’s memories of his college-football days come rushing back when Theodore makes his high-school team.
