The Desperate Trail

This Western, which bears resemblance to the classic spaghetti Westerns, features a female protagonist accused of killing a sexual abuser. She is Sarah, a hard-bitten, tough-talking young woman. She is being taken by stagecoach to a nearby town for hanging by her captor, Marshall Speakes. Also on the coach are a battered wife, her husband, and Jack, an young fellow carrying a mysterious box. As they travel it is discovered that the man Sarah killed was Speake’s son., An accused murderer (Linda Fiorentino) and a thief (Craig Sheffer) form a reluctant partnership when they go on the lam to escape a vengeful marshal (Sam Elliott).
