Directed by Gus Trikonis., Despite a graphic warning by the real estate agent that the house they were renting was the scene of grisly crimes and probably was haunted, psychologists C.J. (Richard Crenna) and Caroline (Joanna Pettet) still plan to use the place as a half-way house for drug addicts. A man and wife team, they live in the modern world and don’t believe in such nonsense. Joined by friends and a few of their clients, the group begins to set up and explore the house. When C.J. dislodges something in the cellar, eerie things begin to happen. The entire group is mysteriously trapped in the house, and its members are killed off one at a time. In one of the film’s highlights, C.J. confronts Satan (Victor Buono), the source of all this mayhem.
