A U.S. airman (George Chakiris) goes AWOL when he thinks he killed his sergeant. Irene: Janette Scott., In this romantic comedy, a free-wheeling member of the U.S. Air Force has a string of romantic flings while stationed in England. His penchant for playing the ponies gets him into trouble as he racks up enormous debts. To pay them, he must go AWOL. While doing so, he ends up knocking out a sergeant. Believing he killed him, the fellow and his girlfriend take off on her brother’s motorcycle and head towards the coast. They stop at a small cafe and there encounter another young couple. Both men are dressed exactly alike and are driving the same kind of bike so it is only natural that when it is time to leave the women climb aboard the wrong bikes. Romantic mayhem ensues. The AWOL soldier’s new love convinces him to return to the base before they marry. He does and he receives a light sentence. Later she has a baby as does the other girl. They meet on the street and have a nice conversation. Unfortunately, they are using identical baby carriages . . . .
