Helping him in this endeavor is his sometimes partner Vic (Billy Bob Thornton). On Christmas Eve, Charlie attempts to get out of town with his part of the money and the woman he loves (Connie Nielsen), but a variety of hindrances stand in his way — most problematically a terrible ice storm that has blanketed Wichita in a sheet of the slippery substance., Director Harold Ramis’s wry and darkly humorous neo-noir stars John Cusack as a crooked Wichita lawyer who tries to steal more than $2 million from the mob on Christmas Eve with the help of his sleazy pal (Billy Bob Thornton). Connie Nielsen, Lara Phillips, Bill Noble, Randy Quaid., Charlie (John Cusack), a lawyer and Vic (Billy Bob Thornton), a pornographer, both working for the same mobster boss, have plotted to steal more than $2 million in cash from him and plan to skip town with the money on Christmas’s Eve. But after getting quite drunk in a strip club, Charlie will have to face a series of funny and dangerous events in the cold and icy Wichita night.
