From the award-winning television series The Magic School Bus comes another animated science adventure tale featuring the wacky and mysterious Ms. Frizzle (voiced by Lily Tomlin) and her class. The episode “Under Construction” presents a lesson on structure, while inspiring young viewers to build things from ordinary household objects. The excitement and learning begin when Ms. Frizzle’s class, reduced to two-inches high, becomes trapped in a bathroom at Wanda’s house. To escape, they gather building materials such as hair curlers and dental floss, and construct a bridge to an open window. That problem solved, all they have to do is get past the alligator in the bathtub. This episode, as are all the Magic School Bus videos, is based upon books by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degan. The program is best suited for children ages six to 12., The class uses its knowledge about structures to fashion towers and bridges that they need to escape some deep trouble.
