More than Neighbors
When pompous newsman Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) goes apartment hunting, he ends up at the doorstep of Phyllis Lindstrom (Cloris Leachman), landlady to Ted’s newsroom co-worker, Mary (Mary Tyler Moore). Though Phyllis is delighted to have Ted as a tenant, Mary and Rhoda (Valerie Harper) are somewhat less enthusiastic — especially in light of the fact that, despite his princely salary, Ted is one of Minneapolis’ premiere freeloaders.
